The Remote Eye

If you’re familiar with Seven Point Eight: Beyond, you’ll know the protagonist is called Tahra Mamoun and she’s the key figure in the mind-bending project initiated by Dr Paul Eldridge. She’s always been an outsider, striving for a sense of belonging and due to her sheltered upbringing, she has a desperate desire to experience the world, although achieves this in a most unconventional way.
In Seven Point Eight: Beyond, we focus more on her adult life – how Max Richardson recruits her to The Institute, how she finds her destiny through Project OOBE, and the worlds she encounters as a result. But there’s an untold story or two in her teenage years, and I’d like to launch a spin-off series called The Tahra Files, where we delve into her early explorations of her power.

One girl’s gift could be her greatest curse

Tahra Mamoun has always known she is different. Even as a child, she was aware of her past lives and knew she was destined for something special.

Isolated by her peers and tormented by Edward, the school bully with a tragic secret, she tries to survive by keeping her head down, although the endless bullying reveals the first hint of her power.

Tahra’s solace is Annie, her only friend, but after a terrible loss, everything changes. When Annie leaves for Cornwall, something inside Tahra awakens.

Her newfound psychic abilities lead her to a glamorous woman cloaked in mystery – and danger. Her companion, a charming yet shadowy stranger, further draws Tahra into their web of intrigue. To save her, Tahra must harness her power and seek assistance, discovering a conspiracy and risking the exposure of her ability in the process.
Set against a backdrop of the 1950s and the Cold War, the intrigue leads Tahra to understand not only her power, but the chaotic nature of friendships.
